The 1860 Army revolver was adopted as US government ordnance because of its lighter weight, improved balance, and superior ballistics. This 6-shot percussion revolver became very popular with mounted troops and went on to be the issued sidearm for the US Army for many years. This special 1860 army model features a white steel engraved frame, white heat-treated steel loading lever and hammer (to be cared for like blued steel), various engraved parts, shoulder stock frame cuts and screws, round blued barrel, fixed front blade sight, ratchet style loading lever, rebated blued cylinder with a roll engraved navy battle scene, brass triggerguard, blued backstrap, and an Army sized walnut grip. A conversion cylinder is available for this model that is a drop-in conversion to smokeless ammunition.
